Is the octopus endangered?

The octopus is not critically endangered but people are taking too much of them to sell. But they could become endangered.

Octopus Fact number 1: Did you know an octopus has three hearts.
Octopus Fact number 2: There are exactly 289 different species of octopus
Octopus Fact number 3: A blue-ringed octopus has a bite that can kill a man in 15 minutes

Here is a link to a website that tells you why you should not buy a Blue Ring Octopus - they are becoming rare.

The Shark Fin Soup Trade

Lots of people kill sharks just for their fins. We need to ban this or sharks will become                 extinct. Sharks are amazing and ancient creatures which were on our earth millions of years before human beings. They have the right to continue for millions of years to come.

Take a look at this horrible picture on the great website about saving our earth www.treehugger.com. One of my favourites!

Stop the Pollution!

Pollution is killing sea life. Because people are throwing rubbish and things like drink cans in to the water. Also people are pumping sewage into the sea. Turtles sometimes swallow plastic bags and die. Please don't throw your rubbish into the sea or in the rivers. If you see any rubbish, please pick it up, find a bin and put it in!

I bet you wouldn't like swimming in polluted water either.

Look at this picture from FICSU.org (Farid International Corporate Sustainability Union). They have lots of other images just as horrible as this here
